Tuesday...better than Monday :)

DeWayne's grandpa had three Chemo treatments in the last two days and seems to be doing okay so far. They are keeping him in the hospital but will hopefully go home soon. I am not sure what the schedule of treatments will be like but will keep you updated.

I was lent a book today that I am going to read that I have been told is a great read for everyone. It is called When God Winks: How the Power of Coincidence Guides Your Life by Squire Rushnell. I have not read it yet but from what I understand it is much like the Butterfly Effect only it is putting in a God perspective. The lady that loaned me the book said it really spoke to her because she had some changes that came about in her life that did not seem good but has realized that maybe it was a wink from God that will change things for the better in the long run. Anyway, I'll let you know what I think after I read it. If you come across it, you may want to read it!!

Have a great night and God Bless!!

Continue to Pray

DeWayne's grandpa was unable to get the chemo on Friday. They are going to try to give it to him in the hospital tomorrow. DeWayne said that they are saying that the cancer is in his bone marrow and his lymph nodes.

Also, Jill's grandmother, my great-aunt, has been fighting her 3rd or 4th round of cancer for the last several months. She was in the hospital yesterday. Mom said they had to remove fluids from her stomach. Please keep Aunt Ivalene in your prayers as well.

My friend Kristin lost her mom to cancer several years ago. Kristin is an avid runner and will be running a Livestrong race in Austin in October. This run is related to the Lance Armstrong foundation and raises money for cancer research. She has a goal of raising $1,000 for cancer research. If you are interested in donating or reading more about it first...the website is: http://austin08.livestrong.org/corriveauags. It will even let you set it up to make payments each month or make a one time payment. Anyway, just thought I would share that. Cancer is so prevelant and the chances of one of us having it in our future are so great. I feel that anything I can do to help the research process could one day benefit someone close to me or myself. Anyway...thank you all so much!!!

I hope that each and everyone of you has a blessed week!!!

Good Evening!!

I want to start this blog with a praise before I post the request that I have. I have just returned from a little bit of time in Atlanta. It was great to spend time with family. I got to spend a lot of time with Drake even babysitting him yesterday. Those of you with kids or nieces or nephews can totally understand how you just love spending time with the little ones and just marveling at how much they learn from day to day. He amazes me more every time I am with him. It was so cute today when I left although it ripped at my heart strings. He wanted to go with me so bad. I would have let him too had anyone said I could. :) Anyway...I just had to praise my time with family.

On to my prayer request, most of you know of my best friend Amanda. She had a beautiful baby girl in January and then found out in May that she was expecting again in December. They went for a check up yesterday and could not find a heart beat. The doctor realized that the baby had stopped developing at about 8 weeks and for some reason had not been miscarried. He had to go in surgically and remove it. Please keep them in your prayers. They are handling it as well as they possibly could but could use prayer during this difficult time.

Pray for the Burks

We really need to lay our hearts, minds, souls, and prayers on Ashley & Josh Burks. I'm not sure if I can't tell you all the details right now and I'd really, rather them tell you. BUT they really need our prayers on the adoption process. They have just had home study with gruling questions. They have found out alot of information but now they are having to make alot of decisions, and lets just say they could be a HUGE but very important decision(s). I just pray that God will easy their worries, calm their hearts, and lead them down the path that is His will. And to help clear the foggy answers and decisions they are about to make. AMEN!
